Sales staff could splash out on golden gadgets

People working hard in sales jobs and earning good commission could treat themselves to a selection of rather extravagant gadgets that are extra special.

Stuart Hughes is a designer of luxury goods and specialises in taking products, like iPods and Nintendo Wiis, and giving them a gold plated finish.

Sales staff with commission to burn could splash out on one of the new gold-plated iPads which he has put together and cost around £2,000 each.

"The process works for objects and gadgets people can relate to and, when we're finished with the products, they can often look bizarre and outrageous. We have gone for the higher end of the gadget end market," he said.

For sales staff who really want to impress their friends and families, Mr Hughes has produced a "masterpiece", which is a 22-carat gold-plated and diamond-encrusted iPad, on sale for a cool £130,000.
